First walk with puppy

We have a 16month old beagle puppy. Is there a paricular time as to when to actually start walking the dog as I heard some breeds cannot be walked until they are 6months -12months old?

Ermmm ... dogs should really start to be walked and socalised (with other dogs) as soon as first course of C5 vaccinations are complete. Larger dogs that are prone to hip dysplasia, do need to avoid long walks and jumping in the first year or thier life.
