Pet dog feeds from person only
My 6 year old ridgeback X has for the last 8 months only accepted food when I feed him in his bowl. If my son feeds him he will not eat the food unless I stand there with him. If I walk away so does he, if I go back to his bowl so does he. I asked my son whether he may have ever been cranky with him whilst feeding him and he said no. It is like he is almost afraid to eat the food or he only feels comfortable when I stand by his side. Why do you think this has happened?

Answer: Pet dog feeds from person only.
It's difficult to say, but my best bet would be: you are master! As we all know dogs are pack animals, so he will see you as top dog. He will eat - when you say it is ok to eat - cause what you say goes. You simply have a very respectful dog! I wouldn't worry about it to much. Maybe your son could become a bit more proactive in your dogs day to day routines if possible.
