Jack Russell obsessed with food

My 6 yr old female is GORGEOUS and has only 1 bad habit. That is she is so obsessed with food. Will wander off in park looking for that crust she can smell 100yds away. Stares at humans at home whilst we're eating and will eat anything and would keep eating if she could. I don't feed her much because I don't want her to be fat - she gets plenty of exercise -1.5 hours per day and the vet says she is the perfect weight. Help - how can I put an end to this?

Oh my gosh! Jimbo does the EXACT same thing. I am of the firm belief that you have to pick your battles with dogs, some behaviours are not allowed, in traid for somethings they can get away with. As you say, she is gorgeous so this may have to be something that you learn to deal with. I am impressed that she can even go off the lead at the park (Jimbo can't, unless it is fully enclosed) - so I think you are doing a really great job with her! Maybe do some training with her so she recalls to 'COME' with food as a reward!??? haha. At least that will stop her from searching for crusts!
