Dog not wanting to go outside
I recently just adopted a lab/pix mix and she is a loving 6mo. old girl. But I also have a 13 mo. old pup and when they both go outside my new lab mix won't do anything but wait at the door to come back in. She won't go outside and she potties inside I can't get her to stop. I need help and I don't know why or what to do to make her want to go outside even for fun.

Answer: Not wanting to go outside
Labs are velcro dogs. I will bet that she never leaves your side when inside the house? She needs to become a little bit dependant away from you. Start slowly, putting her in a seperate room for (maybe with a baby gate blocking the exit so she can still see you) a very short amount of time. When its time for her to come out, do it with minimal fuss or attention. Continue with increased lenght of times, different rooms etc - until you end up at the back yard. Once she realises its ok to be away from you, and that you WILL come back - she should improve.
