Moodle Skin Irritation
Our moodle (poodle x maltese) is 15 months old. He constantly bites and gnawes at his skin/fur/paws/bum (for hours and hours on end) to the point where he has several bald patches all over him. I have checked him for fleas and there is no evidence of any. Is this a common problem, can it be treated? Is it an emotional issue and a sign the dog is stressed. We walk Max twice a day, provide a healthy diet for him and give him lots of love but he is left on his own for about 10 hours a day.Can you suggest something to relieve his irritation and ours?

Answer: Moodle Skin Irritation
If it was refined to the bottom area, I would wonder about tape worm or anal gland problems. Due to it being wide spread I assume a little irritation started somewhere localised, and due to constant licking, chewing, it has spread. Defiantly have your Vet run some tests to ensure nothing is going on. It can be due to boredom, but defiantly have your Vet check out the little man.
