Answer: Pit Bulls
That is a very interesting question, and quite a controversial one at that! Pit Bulls do indeed have a reputation. Personally, I think a dog is 'only as good' as its owner. I am not one to look down on the breed as I have never had a negative experience with one. Come to think of it, I have never had a negative experience with any breed. It seems to me, that you are already concerned with owning a Pitty. And with this in mind, I would not recommend you go ahead with finding one. You don't want to have fear in your mind for the rest of the dogs life, wondering if it's safe to leave your dog with your daughter. If your partner likes that type of dog, you may wish to look at the Staffordshire Terrier. I have a few clients with small children who have Staffies. They are gentle, very clever, adorable and loving. Please remember, that you must be comfortable with your dog. There are many fantastic breeds out there. Posted: 22/09/2005
