dog territory marking - inside
I am a foster carer for a dog rescue organisation. I have 3 dogs of my own, 2 males and 1 female (all de-sexed) and I foster up to 3 others at a time. My problem is that the males are constantly marking their territory inside on anything and everything. I wash the area with vinegar to get rid of the smell, what else can I do?

Answer: Territory marking - inside
Bless your cotton socks! Great to hear from a foster dog mumma! Hmmm ... I am a bit stumped with this one. I feel that if you manage to rope of one area they will find a new area. And as soon as the first 'pee' is established the others may follow quickly. I don't know if this will help; but you might like to check it out. Have you heard of Dog Pheromone's - I think they can be obtained from your vet and you literally plug to a socket it in like a plug in air freshener or similar think there is also a spray (which may help you). It has been stated that this type of 'therapy' can reduce many behavioural problems and ease stress and anxiety. I'm not sure how effective it is although maybe you could ask your vet about it or do some research on the internet?
