walking difficulties with male Beagle

I have problems with my male Beagle when walking the problem is when someone on a bike goes past he wants to go after it. How do I make him stop this behaviour as I would like to be able to pass bikes & people without him getting over excited. I walk him with one of my bitches but she does not do anything when passes go by.

I think you will need to practice some controlled diversions with treats. If you see a bike on approach quickly jump in to action and hold and divert your dogs attention with his favourite treat. It will take a bit of practice. And you may need to do some ground work by assigning a particular word like 'coookies' or 'yummmmies' with the exercise, and doing some practice runs before putting it in to action on a walk. Within time your word, e.g. cookies or yummies will be enough to provoke the desired response and thought process of 'yayyy ... treats' with your dogs full response on you. And you should be able to let bikes pass safely.
