dog barks in car Brisbane Qld
I have a labrador who barks in the car whenever he sees a person, dog or any other animal beside the road. He also barks when we arrive home. It also seems to be when he is excited and knows he is going to the park or beach. any help appreciated

Answer: dog barks in car Brisbane Qld
I am hoping that you dog is food motivated, as what I will suggest is centred on that hope! Firstly, you might look at investing in a crate which would be suitable for the back of your car. Travelling in a create is much safer, and if you cover the top and sides slightly with a blanket you may reduce stimuli and reduce barking. Secondly ? invest in a bit packet of liver treats and practice having your dog laying down or sitting in the crate quietly while the car is stationary. Note that you should introduce the crate in your home before putting it in the car, and you should practice ?down? in your home before the car. And you will require someone to travel with you for practice trips while you drive. Hopefully, within time you will be able to hold your dogs attention with treats while in the car and barking behaviour will be forgotten.
